The Lions won their second road game with a 3-1 effort over Iowa State Friday night at the ISU Arena in Ames, Iowa.
After a scoreless first period, Lindenwood scored on a power play when
Brendan Murphy set up
Vegard Faret at 11:51. The Cyclones answered five minutes later with their own power play goal, but the Lions retook the lead in the final minute on a
Colton Craigo drive at 19:09 assisted by
Austin Wilk. That advantage was extended early in the third when Murphy scored with help from
Alex Kalau and
Kyler Newman at 2:37. The Lindenwood defense took over from there to clinch the 3-1 win.
The Lions outshot Iowa State 32-27 and
Cooper Seedott stopped 26 of the 27 pucks he faced to earn the win in goal. Lindenwood went one-for-four on the power play while holding the Cyclones to a goal on five man-advantage chances.
The Lions improved to 3-2-0 overall. They'll look for another road victory and a series sweep against Iowa State Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the ISU Arena in Ames.
