The Lindenwood women's soccer team defeated the No. 24 Rockhurst Hawks on Friday evening from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions prevailed by a final score of 1-0, improving their record to 5-6-1 and 4-5-1 within the GLVC.

MATCH OVERVIEW
Rockhurst created six corners in the first 10 minutes of play, while hitting the crossbar twice. Lindenwood had six shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of the match. Both teams created chances in the first half, as shots were 11-6 in favor of the Hawks. Lindenwood goalkeeper Megan Swanson stopped all four Rockhurst attempts on goal in the first half.

The Lions got on the board early in the second half when Maggie Miller scored off a free kick from Kaleigh Kastberg in the 54th minute. 

Lindenwood had five total shots on goal in the second half, while limiting the Hawks to just two shots on goal in the final 45 minutes of play.

Swanson and the Lion defense protected the one goal lead for the rest of the match, helping Lindenwood to knock off Rockhurst, the top-ranked team in the GLVC
