The Lindenwood women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback versus the William Jewell Cardinals on Sunday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The loss moves Lindenwood's record to 5-7-1 and 4-6-1 from within the GLVC.
MATCH OVERVIEW
William Jewell took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute of match, scoring off a long shot from the right side of the field.
Exactly four minutes later, the Cardinals extended their lead to a 2-0 margin, scoring off of a corner kick opportunity.
William Jewell carried its 2-0 lead into halftime, scoring on each of its two shots on goal in the half. Lindenwood registered four of the total six shots on goal in the half, but was unable to get on the board.
The Lions came out charging to begin the second half, aiming to cut into the William Jewell lead. Despite their efforts, it was the Cardinals who recorded the lone goal of the second half, scoring an insurance goal in the 70th minute.
Lindenwood was never able to slice into the William Jewell lead, as the Cardinals moved to the 3-0 win.
