Field Hockey Defense Records Shutout Against Belmont Abbey

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood field hockey's defense was stifling against Belmont Abbey, allowing only one shot over 60 minutes to top the Crusaders 3-0 in Louisville, Ky. Mackenzie Litterst played the entire game in goal, her first shutout of the season. The win brings the Lions to 7-5 overall this season.

LINDENWOOD SCORING
11:36 - Annick Geibels ripped a shot at the Belmont Abbey keeper, and Taylor Gent deflected it in front of the cage and into the back of the net.
38:45 - Shelby Pierson sent a ball into the circle where a waiting Bridget Hoogendijk struck for her ninth goal of the season. 
51:30 - Pauline Terwindt earned a penalty stroke and capitalized. 

NOTABLE
- As a team, the Lions out-shot the Crusaders 11-1 with the shots on goal disparity at 9-0. Lindenwood also held the edge in penalty corners at 8-2.
- Bridget Hoogendijk led the attack with three shots (all on goal) while scoring her ninth goal of the season.
- Taylor Gent's goal was her first as a Lion. 
- Pauline Terwindt scored on a penalty stroke, her second penalty goal of the season. 
- Shelby Pierson earned the assist on Hoogendijk's goal, her first helper of the season. 
- Annick Giebels picked up her first assist of the year on Gent's goal.
