The Lindenwood women's soccer team defeated the Drury Panthers by a final score of 2-0 on Friday night from Hunter Stadium. With the win, the Lions improve their record to 6-7-1 overall and 5-6-1 against GLVC opponents.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood carried the pace of play from the opening whistle. The Lions had three shots in the first six minutes of play and 13 total in the first half, six of which were on goal. The Lions held the Panthers to three shots, and just one shot on goal.
The scoring got started in the 19th minute when
Katie Juhlin took a pass from
Maria Salm and chipped it over the Panthers goalkeeper. Just eight minutes later, the Lions would double their lead as
Kaleigh Kastberg nodded home a header off a corner kick from
Alaina White.
Megan Swanson and the Lindenwood defense protected the two goal lead for the remainder of the match, helping secure the victory.
