MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's soccer team defeated the Southwest Baptist Bearcats by a final score of 1-0 on Senior Day from Hunter Stadium on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Lions' record moves to 7-7-1 overall and 6-6-1 against GLVC opponents.
Each team was able to create a few chances in the opening half. The Lions defense was stout in front of goalkeeper
Lauren Greenstein in the opening 45 minutes. The Lions had five shots on goal in the first half, while limiting the Bearcats to just two.
The Lions had seven shots in the second 45 minutes of play creating plenty of chances, but were unable to break through until the 80th minute when
Bailey Bologna was taken down inside the box by a Southwest Baptist defender.
Amanda Orlando calmly stepped up and buried the penalty kick into the top left corner to put the Lions on top.
Greenstein and the Lindenwood defense did not allow a shot for the remainder of the match, sealing the Lion victory.
