The Lindenwood football team (5-3, 4-0 GLVC) picked up a 33-27 win over Quincy (3-5, 1-4 GLVC) on Saturday in Quincy, Ill.  Payton Rose racked up 177 receiving yards and three scores to help the Lions remain perfect from within conference play.

GAME OVERVIEW
On the first drive for the Lions, Cade Brister found Rose for a 12 yard pass before connecting on a 51-yard strike on the next play for an early 7-0 lead.  The Hawks tied the game at 7-7 to bring to first quarter scores back to even.  In the early part of the second quarter, Brister led the Lions down the field, capping off an eight-play drive with seven-yard touchdown pass to Nash Sutherlin for a 13-7 advantage.  With 2:39 left in the first half, Brister found Rose again for a 54-yard touchdown to put the Lions up 20-7.  Quincy was able to score before the end of the half, making it a six-point ball game after 30 minutes of play.

Brister stayed hot, finding Rose for the third time in the game at the 10:16 mark of the third quarter, giving the Lions a 26-14 lead.  The Hawks did not go away easily, as they scored before the end of the third quarter to make it a 26-20 Lindenwood lead heading into the final quarter of play.  The Lindenwood defense made it tough on Quincy, as CJ McClure registered a sack on third down to give the Lions the ball.

On the ensuing Lindenwood drive, Brister threw his fifth touchdown of the day to Ben Anderson for the 33-21 lead with 9:09 to go in the game.  Grady Daniels halted the next Quincy drive after he intercepted a pass and returned it 37 yards.  The Hawks registered one more score in the game, but the Lions came through for the six-point road win.

Drew Seers led the Lions on the defensive end, making 19 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss.  Rose now moves to second in the programs record book for most receiving touchdowns in a season (12), just two behind Andrew Helmick who had 14 in 2012.  Brister has thrown 27 touchdown passes this year, bringing him within nine of the school's record holder Philip Staback who tossed 36 touchdowns in 2009.
