The Lindenwood men's soccer team secured a 1-0 road victory over the UIndy Greyhounds from Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday evening. The win is the first of the season for the Lions away from Hunter Stadium, and moves the team's record to 3-3-2 and 2-2-2 inside the GLVC.
MATCH OVERVIEW
After nearly 40 full minutes of scoreless action to begin the match, Lindenwood broke through with the go-ahead score at the 39:55 mark of the first half.
Luke McBeth corralled a long lead pass from the Lindenwood defensive zone, bringing possession just outside the UIndy goal box. McBeth then fed
Logan Doerr who blasted a shot into the right side of the net from 25 yards out.Â
Doerr's goal would stand up as the lone score of the first half, as Lindenwood entered halftime holding the 1-0 lead.
Lindenwood was outshot by a total of 7-3 throughout the second half, but the Lions managed to have the only shot on goal in the frame.Â
Tim Licht and the Lions defense stood tall for the duration of the match, blanking the Greyhounds en route to the 1-0 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Doerr's goal was the first goal of his collegiate career, as he also picked up his first two points as a Lion on the play.
- With the assist, McBeth extends his team-leading point total to 13.
- McBeth has at least one point in six of the seven matches in which he has appeared in this season.

Leon Silva registered a team-high two shots on goal, tying with Doerr who also had a pair of shots on goal.

Tim Licht faced 10 shots during the match, but just one shot was sent on goal, which he turned aside.
- Licht's shutout was his second of the season and the seventh of his career.
