Despite outshooting Central Oklahoma by a three-to-one margin, Lindenwood was only able to get one puck to the back of the net in a 3-1 loss to the Bronchos Saturday afternoon at the Arctic Edge in Edmond, Oklahoma.
The Lions outshot UCO 48-15 in the contest, but their only goal came in the first period after
Vegard Faret and
Zach Mitchell set up
Tommy Heinzman on the power play. Lindenwood maintained that lead through the end of the second, but Central Oklahoma scored three unanswered in the third.
Lions netminder
Cooper Seedott stopped 12 of 15 pucks he faced in the loss, which was the second straight for Lindenwood and third against the Bronchos on the season. The only other defeat for Lindenwood came at the hands of Michigan – Dearborn in early October.
The Lions drop to 10-4-0 for the 2019-2020 campaign. They'll try to right the ship with a conference series in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League against Ohio University November 22-23. The puck drops at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night at the Bird Arena in Athens, Ohio.Â
