The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-6-2, 0-2-0 CHA) lost 7-2 to Mercyhurst (7-2-1, 4-0-0 CHA) on Saturday in Erie, Pa.

GAME OVERVIEW
Mercyhurst poured on 11 shots in the first period, beating the Lindenwood goaltender three times to take a 3-0 lead after the first period. The Lakers scored their first two goals while on the power play, including a 4-on-3 power play goal at 6:48 of the opening frame.

Cierra Paisley netted the Lions first goal just seven seconds into the second period, quickly flipping momentum. Mercyhurst responded with two goals in a span of 1:42 to take a commanding 5-1 lead. The Lakers added two more goals in the second period for a 7-1 lead after just 40 minutes of play.

Maddison Stitt scored at the 2:46 mark of the third period, but the deficit was too much for the Lions to overcome. The Lions blocked 14 shots as a team, while the Lions played two goalies in the five-goal loss on Saturday.Â
