It was a defensive battle for most of the game, but the Lions eventually fell to Ohio 2-1 Saturday night at the Bird Arena in Athens, Ohio.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the opening period, but Lindenwood took an early lead midway through the second on a shot from
Brendan Murphy set up by
Hayden Dawes at 9:34, but that was the extent of the offense for the Lions. The Bobcats scored twice in the remaining minutes of the period and that is how the contest ended.
Lindenwood outshot Ohio 32-23, but Lions goalie
Cooper Seedott let two pucks past him on those 23 shots to take the loss in goal.
The Lions fell to 11-5-0 overall and 7-1-0 in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League. The contest wrapped up the fall campaign, but they'll return to action the second weekend in January against Missouri State January 10-11 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
