The Lindenwood men's soccer team came up short in its final regular season game of the 2019 season on Sunday afternoon. The Lions were defeated 3-1 by the Truman State Bulldogs from Kirksville, Mo.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Truman State converted on a penalty kick opportunity in the 26th minute, breaking a scoreless tie, as the home team moved ahead by a 1-0 score.
The Bulldogs protected the one-goal lead into halftime.
Opening the second half, Lindenwood wasted little time, scoring the equalizing goal after 6:02 of play.
Leon Silva sent a cross pass from the right side of the field into the Truman State goal box, finding the head of a charging
Gaspar Alvarez who directed the ball into the lower right side of the goal.
The game remained tied at 1-1 for a brief time, until Truman State reestablished its one-goal lead in the 62nd minute of play.
The Bulldogs added an insurance tally in the 81st minute, pushing their lead to 3-1, which would hold as the final score.

- Alvarez's goal was his second of the season, and brought his point total to five.
- Silva earned his fifth assist of the season in the match, the second-highest assist total among the Lions.
