No. 6 Wrestling Celebrates Seniors on Sunday

GAME OVERVIEW
The No. 6 Lindenwood wrestling squad lost 27-9 to No. 12 Central Oklahoma on Sunday in Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.  The Lions celebrated their senior class on Sunday as Kyle Jolas capped off his career with a shutout victory.

No. 1 Carlos Jacquez closed out the regular season with an undefeated record after scoring a 9-4 decision victory in the first match of the day.  No. 9 Tanner Hitchcock was seconds away from tying up his match as the takedown came just after the final buzzer.  The Bronchos tallied the next two wins to take a 6-3 lead, but No. 9 Gavin Londoff tied the dual at 6-6 after he defeated his opponent 7-4.

No. 8 Jolas went out on a high note in his final regular season dual after he registered a 6-0 decision victory at 165 pounds.  With the dual at 16-9 in favor of Central Oklahoma, the 184-pound bout was promised to bring some excitement, and it did not disappoint.

No. 10 Colton Clingenpeel and No. 2 Heath Gray put up a total of 28 points between the two wrestlers.  Clinglenpeel was close to being pinned, but in a blink of an eye he flipped the script and found himself with a chance to end the match.  Much like Hitchcock, Clingenpeel was a second too late as time ran out of the period.  Central Oklahoma held on for the 27-9 win over Lindenwood on Sunday.
