GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (7-19-3, 3-12-2 CHA) lost 5-4 to Syracuse (9-19-3, 9-6-2 CHA) in overtime on Friday night in Syracuse, N.Y.

The first period was an eventful one that featured four goals, two by each team. The Lions opened the game with a goal by
Taylor Kirwan just six minutes into the game. Syracuse responded with two goals to take at 2-1 lead at the halfway point of the opening period.Â
Nicole Guagliardo tied the game with 35 seconds left with the help of assists by
Nikki Friesen and Lilian Marchant.

In the second, both teams were quite in the first half, but
Jada Burke put the Lions back in front with a goal at the 12:50 mark. Less than five minutes later,
Sierra Burt gave the Lions a two-goal lead to close out the second period. Lindenwood took two quick penalties to start the third period, and the Orange took advantage as they tied the game in the first three minutes of the third. Syracuse won the game in overtime on a penalty shot in the first minute.
