The Lindenwood baseball team split its doubleheader on Sunday with an 11-3 victory in game on and a 1-0 loss in game two against Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
Lindenwood opened the day with a statement, starting with a run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead. The Lions added another run in the top of the fifth after
DJ Miller started the inning with a triple to center field. Miller scored on a sacrifice fly by
Calvin Nowak on the next pitch.Â
Ryan Sosnowski jump started the top of the sixth with a double to right center. The Lions exploded for nine runs in the top of the sixth with nine hits and even left the bases loaded.

Lindenwood surrendered three runs in the bottom of the inning, but held on for the 11-3 victory in the first game on Sunday. Freshman
Jacob Thompson earned the first victory of his career as he allowed just one hit in five innings.

The Lions struggled offensively in the second game, but had strong pitching throughout the nine innings.Â
Blake Beckmann went three innings and registered three strikeouts. The only run scored in the game came in the eighth inning on a leadoff home run for Lee University. The Lions had just four hits in the game in the 1-0 shutout.
