GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (6-17-2, 2-10-1 CHA) picked up a hard-earned victory over RIT (9-14-4, 5-8-0 CHA) on Friday at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

RIT registered the first goal at the 17:34 mark of the first period to take a late 1-0 lead. The Lions played fast all night and they started to wear down the Tigers as the game went on. Lindenwood went on a power play early in the second period and moved the puck well before
Sierra Burt made a beautiful cross-crease pass to
Megan Wagner for the game-tying goal.Â
Kirsten Martin put the Lions on top with a goal just three minutes later to make it a 2-1 game at the 4:33 mark of the second period.

The Lions surrendered an early goal in the third period off of a tipped shot, tying the game again. Lindenwood continued to battle and flipped the ice at the 6:35 mark when
Nicole Guagliardo moved the puck up to Martin who chipped it to
Nikki Friesen who buried the eventual game winner.Â
Sophie Wolf held strong through a late surge by the Tigers to secure the 3-2 victory on Friday night.

Lindenwood will close out the season series with RIT on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. The Lions will have a ceremonial puck drop prior to the game by a breast cancer survivor. At intermission, the local Lady Cyclones will play a mini game to celebrate Women's Day in Sports. The Lions are auctioning off the Pink the Rink jerseys until Sunday at noon.
