GAME OVERVIEW
The No. 4 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team earned a 20-1 season-opening victory over Maryville on Saturday afternoon from St. Louis, Mo. For the Lions, the victory extended the program's winning streak to seven-consecutive season-opening wins dating back to the beginning of the 2012 season.
Lindenwood wasted little time gaining control of Saturday's contest, scoring the opening goal just 45 seconds into action. The Lions added 14 more scores before the halftime intermission, which they entered with a 15-0 edge.
Lindenwood outscored Maryville by a count of 5-1 in the second frame, giving the Lions a 20-1 road victory.

Emma Wildhart each netted four goals and five total points to lead the Lions offensively.
- In her collegiate debut,
Abby Hagberg registered a three-goal performance.

Sarah Farley also scored her first two goals as a Lion.

Hailey Gallant each scored twice for Lindenwood. Pine's two scores both came in the first 1:43 of play to account for the team's first two goals of the season.

Sami Smit had one goal and one assist apiece.

Paige Sutton each caused three turnovers in the game.

Aly Smith stopped three of the four shots she faced in goal for the Lions en route to the win.
