GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood softball split its twinbill in Peoria, Ill. with a loss to UIS before rebounding to top Lewis. The Lions led UIS through the fourth inning, but a late rally dropped LWU. In the second game of the day, Lindenwood mashed two home runs to overpower Lewis 4-1. The Lions are now 6-2 on the season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Austine Pauley powered the Lindenwood offense in game one, going 3-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored. 
- Caitlyn Touchette was 2-3 with a double and a run scored. 
- In the circle, Marina Esparza picked up the loss, but only allowed three hits in three innings and recorded eight of her nine outs as groundouts.

- In game two, both teams were held scoreless through four innings until Austine Pauley hit the Lions first home run of the season, a two-run shot to put the Lions on top in the fifth.
- Hanna Porter responded later in the fifth with a two-run shot of her own. 
- Porter was 2-3 in the game, including her two-run shot.
- Hannah Johnson also went 2-3 in the game.
- Sam Dean was the third Lion to go 2-3 in the contest. 
- Stormee Galka threw the complete game in the circle, allowing six hits and one earned run. She struck out three and walked none. 

UP NEXT
The Lions were originally scheduled to play a midweek contest against St. Louis College of Pharmacy this week, but those contests have been postponed to April. Now, Lindenwood's next contest will be the MIAA opener at Emporia State on Friday, March 8. The doubleheader against the Hornets is set for 2 p.m. in Emporia, Kan.
