The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team defeated the UCCS Mountain Lions on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 18-15 from Colorado Springs, Colo. With the victory, the Lions move to 14-1 overall and 7-1 from within the RMAC. Lindenwood will host the upcoming RMAC Tournament (May 2-5) at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo., after clinching the best conference record among the RMAC's Missouri/Oklahoma schools.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions fell behind the Mountain Lions early, as the home team scored three of the first five goals to take a 3-2 lead.
Paige Sutton had each of the first two goals for Lindenwood.
Lindenwood poured in four consecutive goals over a 6:31 span to take a 6-3 lead over UCCS. Three of the Lions' four goals during the run came on free position attempts.
UCCS would outscore Lindenwood by a 4-3 margin for the remainder of the first half, but the Lions entered the intermission with a 9-7 lead.
UCCS opened the second period with five straight goals as it took a 12-9 lead over Lindenwood.
The Lions responded immediately with six straight goals of their own, including three scores from
Carly Fedorowski to take a 15-12 lead with just under 12 minutes remaining.
Each team would score three more times before the end of the game, with Lindenwood prevailing by a final score of 18-15.

Lindenwood will return home to Hunter Stadium for its regular season finale next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Lions will honor the three members of their senior class prior to their game against Oklahoma Baptist.
