GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood baseball team (28-24) stayed alive in the MIAA Tournament with a 4-3 win over Northwest Missouri (23-27) on Friday morning in Pittsburg, Kan.

Calvin Nowak helped put the Lions on the board first, as he led off the third inning with a triple to right center.Â
Kolby Schulte hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Nowak for the 1-0 lead.Â
Bryce Beckmann started the fourth inning with a single to right field, then stole second and was able to advance to third on a throwing error by the Bearcats.Â
Ryan Venne drove in Beckmann on a sacrifice fly to put the Lions in front 2-0.

Northwest Missouri scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead in half, before tying the game in the bottom of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, Venne reached on an error and was able to make it to second base.Â
Jayce Maag pinch ran and scored two batters later on a single up the middle by Schulte to make it 3-2. The Bearcats responded again with a run in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game for the second time.

Mitchell Krebs came through in the clutch in the top of ninth inning on the first pitch of his at bat. Krebs belted a solo home run to right field for his first in a Lindenwood uniform to give the Lions the 4-3 lead.Â
Eric Hipp threw the final two innings, earning the win as he did not allow a hit and struck out two batters.
