Lindenwood men's golf head coach Derek Schaub has been named the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Central Region Coach of the Year. He is the first Lindenwood coach to receive the honor in program history. 

Schaub oversaw the most successful season in Lindenwood men's golf history. The Lions won three tournaments in the regular season, but saved their best golf for the postseason, winning the MIAA Championship and the Central/Midwest Super Regional. Lindenwood advanced to the NCAA DII National Championship where the Lions finished 12th, the best finish in program history. Schaub coached MIAA Individual Champion Markus Lindgren, Central Regional Individual Champion Yente Van Doren and 2019 NCAA Elite 90 recipient Brad Currier. The 2018-19 Lions posted an average team score of 291.91 (+5.68 to par), the best team average in program history by 3.5 full strokes. Lindenwood finished the season ranked 33rd in NCAA DII.
