Francisco Gavilan Fernandez of the Lindenwood men's golf team has been named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced on Thursday.

Gavilan finished tied for fourth, helping the Lions to a third-place finish overall. The Spanish native posted two rounds of even par or better and compiled a 213 (72, 70, 71) score across three rounds.

Gavilan played the par 5s well, shooting an average of 4.67 on such holes, which ranked second in the field. Overall, he went three under on Par 5s during the tournament. The sophomore led the field in pars with 39.

Gavilan and the rest of the Lions will be back in action at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate on October 12-13 in Jonesboro, Ark.
