The Lindenwood football program went to North St. Louis City on Sunday to help give back to the community.
Â
The Lions took hours out of their day to help clean up the streets and help bring back the beauty of North City. The program teamed up with Pastor Booker of St. Paul Ame Church and James Clark of Better Family Life as part of the clean sweep crew between Hamilton and Goodfellow on Page Blvd. In 2017, head coach
Jed Stugart made it a point that he wanted to involve his program in giving back to the community.
Â
We've talked a lot about how we as a team and individuals can be difference makers in this world," said Stugart. "Action speaks louder than words and it starts with taking care of our communities in and around this great city. We have a lot of time to practice football, and today is about helping others around us."

In 2018, the team attended a gun violence march led by the Better Family Life Community Outreach in support of families in North City that have lost loved ones to gun violence.
The Lions open up fall camp on Monday at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The 2019 season opens on September 7 against Eastern Washington.
