Herrera, McBeth Score in Defeat for Men's Soccer

The Lindenwood men's soccer team was defeated by the McKendree Bearcats on Sunday afternoon from Lebanon, Ill. The Lions scored two goals in the second half of the match, but allowed three second-half scores to the Bearcats, resulting in a 3-2 loss.

MATCH OVERVIEW
Neither team managed to score during the first half, which ended in a 0-0 tie.

The home team scored in the 52nd minute of the match, to take an early second-half lead.

Luke McBeth and Lindenwood battled back, finding the equalizing score in the 63rd minute, to knot the score at 1-1.

McKendree scored back-to-back goals in the 79th and 84th minutes of the match, taking a commanding 3-1 lead into the closing minutes of the contest.

Joaquin Herrera tallied the first goal of his Lindenwood career in the 86th minute, bringing Lindenwood within one goal of McKendree. However, that was as close as the Lions would get before time expired, dropping the match by a final score of 3-2.

- McBeth's goal was his team-leading fifth score of the season, and raises his point total to a team-high 12 for the season.
- Herrera's goal represented the first goal and point of his Lindenwood career.
- Thomas Hutcheson had the other shot on goal in the match for the Lions.
- Tim Licht made six saves in the match, tying a season high.
- Licht has stopped at least five shots in three matches this season.
