The Lindenwood women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hand of the Emporia State Hornets on Sunday afternoon from St. Joseph, Mo. The loss drops the Lions' season record to 1-1-0.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood and Emporia State played to an even first half on Sunday afternoon, with neither team finding the back of the net. Heading into the halftime intermission, each team had recorded five total shots, with the Lions holding a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.
The Hornets wasted little time gaining an edge in the second half, scoring what would stand up as the game-winning tally just 1:54 into the second frame.
Lindenwood was unable to muster up a game-tying score throughout the second half, suffering its first loss of the 2019 campaign.
