The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-13-3, 0-7-0 CHA) lost 2-1 to Penn State (8-9-4, 3-3-1 CHA) on Friday night in University Park, Pa.

GAME OVERVIEW
Penn State scored a goal late in the first period to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room.Â
Annika Asplundh made 15 of her 32 save in the first period to keep in a one goal game. The Lions tightened up on the defensive end allowing just six shots on goal, but the Nittany Lions built its lead to two goals after the second period of play.

Early in the third period, junior transfer
Bailey Coyne netted her first goal in a Lindenwood uniform to cut the deficit to one goal. Penn State continued to apply pressure, but Asplundh tallied 12 saves in the final period to give the Lions a chance. Lindenwood could not find high quality chances in the offensive zone, and fell 2-1 to Penn State on Friday night.
