Men’s Ice Hockey Now Third in ACHA Ranking

After three weeks in a row ranked fourth, the Lions are now third in the latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division I Ranking.  Lindenwood swept Robert Morris (Ill.) last weekend with 5-2 and 3-1 victories on the road.

Adrian College remained first for the 10th straight week after sweeping a home-and-home series with No. 22 Oakland University.  The Bulldogs continue their perfect start at 18-0-0.  Liberty University stayed second in the ranking after sweeping No. 23 Delaware to improve to 19-3-1.  Minot State traded places with the Lions, dropping from third to fourth.  The Beavers lost in a shootout 2-1 to No. 13 Jamestown last Friday.  The game was played outdoors in blizzard conditions on the Jamestown campus as part of Hockey Day North Dakota 2020.  Michigan – Dearborn inched into the top-five from sixth place after splitting a series with No. 8 Indiana Tech.  The Warriors also played No. 6 Stony Brook and fell to the Seawolves 4-3.

Lindenwood currently sits at 15-5-0 overall and 9-1-0 in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL).  The Lions host No. 7 Ohio University in a CSCHL battle January 24-25.  The Bobcats are 13-6-5, and are one of the teams that gave Lindenwood a loss earlier this season.  The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Friday evening and 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
