The No. 7 Lindenwood wrestling team (5-3) lost a tough dual to No. 6 Central Oklahoma by a final of 20-17 in Edmond, Okla. on Saturday.

Carlos Jacquez set the tone to start the day with a 21-6 tech fall at 125 pounds. The Bronchos earned a late takedown at 133 pounds to take a slim 4-3 decision victory, cutting the Lindenwood lead to 5-3. No. 6
Colby Smith built the team score to 8-3, after he controlled his opponent in the third period for the 4-1 decision.
Central Oklahoma tallied back-to-back wins at 149 pounds and 157 pounds to take a 12-8 lead over Lindenwood.
Nate Trepanier nearly upset No. 3 Ty Lucas in their 157-pound bout, as Trepanier lost by a three-point margin.
Austin Stofer and
Abner Romero put the Lions back on top with two-straight decisions, making it a 14-12 with three matches to go. Stofer upset No. 7 Dayton Garrett at 165-pounds with the help of a strong takedown in the second period.
The Lions had a tough road to finish the dual, facing No. 1 Heath Gray at 184 pounds and No. 6 Dalton Abney at 197 pounds. The Bronchos held a six-point lead going into the final match of the day, as No. 6
Courvoisier Morrow could not cover the difference with his 4-1 decision victory.
