The No. 7 Lindenwood wrestling team (5-4, 2-1 GLVC) lost 26-11 to No. 2 McKendree (7-2, 3-0 GLVC) on Thursday night in Lebanon, Ill.
DUAL OVERVIEW
The night began with one of the most highly anticipated matches in the country, as No. 3
Carlos Jacquez faced longtime opponent No. 2 Marcus Povlick. Jacquez and Povlick wrestled close, but the Bearcats came out victorious to take a 3-0 lead. No. 10
Tanner Hitchcock beat Christian Mejia to even the match at 3-3.
No. 6
Colby Smith dominated Jet Tryon and nearly earned a pin in the second period, but earned the technical fall 17-1 as time expired at the end of the period to give Lindenwood five team points and an 8-3 lead. McKendree went on to win the next six matches to take a commanding 26-8 lead. No. 6
Courvoisier Morrow closed out the night with a powerful 8-3 decision victory over #7 ranked Caleb Gossett.
