The Lindenwood women's hockey team (4-17-3) lost 3-0 to Minnesota State (9-14-5) on Friday night in Mankato, Minn.

GAME OVERVIEW
The first period was a feeling out process, as the two teams combined for 13 shots on goal. The Mavericks broke the tie in the second period with an early goal at the 3:02 mark.Â
Annika Asplundh made 14 saves in the second period to keep it a one-goal game. Minnesota State put the game away late in the third period with two goals in less than two minutes to take a 3-0 lead.

Asplundh ended the game with 33 saves, while the defensive unit compiled 21 blocked shots.Â

Cierra Paisley combined for six shots in the game, but could not find the back of the net. The Lions were 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Mavericks converted one time on three attempts.
