The Lindenwood women's hockey team (0-2-0, 0-2-0 CHA) dropped the second game of the series against Penn State (2-0-0, 2-0-0 CHA) by a final score of 4-1.
Jane Jacobs scored the lone goal for the Lions on the power play.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions would find themselves behind early as Penn State got on the board just 39 seconds into the game. Both teams created scoring chances in the opening frame. The Lions would capitalize on the man advantage when
Jane Jacobs put one in the back of the net at the 12:13 mark of the first period.
Sierra Burt and
Bailey Coyne picked up assists on the Jacobs goal. Each team saw a few more opportunities, but the score remained 1-1 after the first 20-minutes of play.
Penn State would make some adjustments during the break, coming out hot. The Nittany Lions would score three times during the frame, including two power play goals. The Nittany Lions had 30 shots, 24 of which were on goal during the second period. They took a 4-1 lead into the locker room.
The Lindenwood defense stood strong in the final frame, but the offense couldn't get much going on the afternoon. The Nittany Lions would get the 4-1 win.
