The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its NCAA women's pre-season tournament team rankings this week, and the Lions landed in ninth place in the poll.

Lindenwood received 20 points overall to edge Gannon by a single point in 10th place.  Perennial power Simon Fraser topped the ranking with 97 points, followed by McKendree in second with 92 points, and Emmanuel in third with 67 points.

Four Lions received top eight placement in the individual rankings in their weight class, led by junior Valerie Mamleeva at fifth in the 116 pound class.  In the 143 pound division, sophomore Julianna Moreno was ranked sixth, while sophomore Johnvanique Porter earned the seventh spot at 101 pounds.  Senior Mia Dow rounded out the Lindenwood contingent ranked eighth in the 136 pound class.  

The NWCA ranking is determined by a six-person committee comprised of representatives from six schools within the division.
