The Lindenwood women's hockey team (0-5-0, 0-5-0 CHA) fell by a score of 4-0 to Robert Morris (3-0-0, 3-0-0 CHA) on Thursday Night from the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.
Â
The Colonials put pressure on the Lions from the opening faceoff, which resulted in two goals in the first five minutes of play. The Lions battled back with the next eight shots on goal but were unable to score. Robert Morris withstood the pressure and got a late goal in the first period to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
The second 20 minutes of play saw Lindenwood get a few more pucks to the net, resulting in 10 shots on goal during the frame. It was Robert Morris who would add onto their lead, however as the Colonials put one into the back of the net at the 14:07 mark, extending their lead to 4-0.
Â
The defense stood strong in the third as netminder
Annika Asplundh stopped all 14 Colonial shots in the frame. The offense failed to get much going on the night, seeing Robert Morris pick up the 4-0 victory.
