The No. 7 Lindenwood wrestling team competed in the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday in Marshall, Mo.
Gavin Londoff ran through the 165-pound division to earn first place, while
Tim Bogar earned a third place finish in the 165-pound weight class.
Londoff started his day off with a pin at 4:53 of his first match, before winning 10-3 over his opponent from Central Missouri. The Lake St. Louis, Mo. native earned a 13-3 major decision in the quarterfinal match and advanced to the championship bout by a medical forfeit. Londoff closed out his day with a 4-3 decision victory over Martell Boone of the University of Missouri.
Bogar advanced to the semifinals after three-straight pins for a combined 6:01 of match time. Bogar lost by one point to runner-up Boone, but bounced back with a pin in just 54 seconds in the consolation semifinal match. Bogar defeated GLVC opponent Dylan Shotwell of Maryville by a 4-3 margin to earn third place.
Anthony Michaels went deep in the consolation bracket, but bowed out after an injury default in the semifinal round. Michales picked up two tech falls by a combined score of 32-1, and earned a pin in his first bout of the day.
Jack Tangen won by fall at the 4:06 mark of his first match of the day. Tangen earned three more wins in the tournament, two of those by major decision.
Lindenwood will host Bellarmine on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
