The Lindenwood baseball team (4-1) swept Saturday's doubleheader against Ohio Dominican (0-2) to open the three-game series. The Panthers took game one, 9-0, and game two, 4-0, as the pitching staff held the Panthers scoreless over 18 innings.
GAME ONE OVERVIEW
Lindenwood scored first on a
Beau Collier single to left field to drive in
Dominic Revetta in the second inning. The Lions opened up the scoring in the bottom of the third when they brought in five runs to score.
Mitchell Krebs drove in two on a single into left center,
Alex Canty had an RBI on a fielder's choice, and Collier tripled into right field to drive in two more. The Lions would add three more runs over the final five innings on sacrifice flies from
Sam Kissane, Revetta, and Collier.
Blake Beckmann,
Niko Marshall, and
Garrett Juergens combined for nine innings of shutout baseball. Beckmann went seven innings, while striking out six and allowing six base hits. Marshall and Juergens did not allow a base runner over their combined two innings of pitching, while striking out one.

GAME TWO OVERVIEW
Lindenwood scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning to gain an early lead over Ohio Dominican.
Calvin Nowak tripled into left center and then came home on a wild pitch to open up the scoring for the bottom of the frame.
Maclaine McCarter and Kissane came home to score on an error by the Panthers' left fielder to bring in the final two runs of the inning for Lindenwood. The Lion's final run of the game came on a
Kolby Schulte RBI-single into right field to drive in Kissane.
For the second-straight game, Lindenwood pitchers combined to throw nine scoreless innings. This time,
Jacob Thompson and
Brody Roach toed the rubber to prevent Ohio Dominican from bringing home any runs. Thompson went seven strong innings of two-hit baseball, while striking out six. Roach worked two perfect innings while striking out a batter.
