The No. 14 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team defeated Mars Hill, 23-6, on Saturday afternoon to begin the season 2-0.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood Lions got off to a quick start, as the team led 9-1 heading into the second quarter. The Lindenwood Lions finished with 14 shots in the first quarter, and 18 in the second. Of those 32 shots in the first half, Lindenwood scored 16 goals. The team limited their turnovers to eight over the first half, while Mars Hill finished with 14 turnovers in the first half.
The second half saw the Lindenwood Lions continue to dominate as Lindenwood outscored Mars Hill 7-3 over the final half of the game. The Lindenwood Lions outshot Mars Hill 24-12 in the final half. Lindenwood had five or less turnovers in each quarter of the game, while Mars Hill finished with at least five turnovers in each quarter, including a game-high 11 in the final quarter.
Lindenwood's 23-6 victory was the team's highest margin of victory since the team's 30-5 win over Ohio Valley on May 4, 2017.

- Peter Covington finished with a team-high six goals, marking the second-straight game for Covington with at least four goals scored.
- Jake Campbell added four goals for the team, and after scoring a goal in the team's season-opener, he now has five goals on the year.
- Leonard Jones scored three goals against Mars Hill, and now is tied for second on the team with five goals scored this season.
- Jones assisted on five scores, which was tops on the team in the game. Grant Brunsvold, Grant Glazier, and Campbell all finished with three assists for Lindenwood.
- Carter Collins scooped a team-high five ground balls for Lindenwood. Collins also had two assists on scores.
- Lindenwood caused five turnovers on the day as Alex Eubank, Mathieu Jung, Brian Kallberg, Danny Kowalski, and Chase Showalter all caused a turnover.
