Softball Wraps Up Opening Weekend with Two Wins

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood softball finished opening weekend with a pair of wins in Tuscon, Ariz. The Lions beat Texas Permian Basin 11-9 and Eastern New Mexico 5-0. The wins move Lindenwood to 3-1 overall this season. 

GAME ONE NOTABLES (UTPB)
- Stormee Galka led off for the Lions, going 2-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Additionally, she pitched in relief, picking up the win over 3.2 IP. 
- Hanna Porter was 3-4 at the plate, hitting two doubles with three RBIs and two runs scored. 
- Newcomer Whitney Wendel hit a home run against the Falcons, her first as a Lion.

GAME TWO NOTABLES (ENMU)
- Shortstop Whitney Wendel went 4-4, scoring a pair of runs.
- Hanna Porter was 1-2 with her first home run of the season. She also scored a pair of runs with an RBI. 
- Hannah Johnson went 1-4  with a double and two RBIs. 
- Amanda Weyh threw 4.2 IP in relief, striking out three and walking just one. Weyh and Marina Esparza combined for the shutout. 

UP NEXT
The Lions compete in the Rosemont Dome Invitational next weekend, Feb. 21-22. Lindenwood will play Saginaw Valley State and Wayne State on Feb. 21 before taking on Ashland and Grand Valley State on Feb. 22.
