No. 9 Women's Lacrosse Dominant Against Davenport

No. 9 Lindenwood women's lacrosse won in blowout fashion on Sunday, 19-4, over Davenport.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions never trailed in Sunday's game, after getting out in front early with a goal in the first 32 seconds, scored by Morgan Reader and assisted by Lexy Biller. It was Reader's third goal of the season and Biller's first assist of the new campaign. Lindenwood led 13-6 heading into halftime, highlighted by the team's 21 shot attempts to Davenport's nine. The Lions committed just nine turnovers in the first half which was a stark contrast to the Panthers' 17.
 
The second half saw Lindenwood continue to dominate, outscoring the Panthers, 6-1. The Lions scooped at least 10 ground balls in each period, finishing with 21 total on the day. The team outshot Davenport in the second half, 13-7. For the second-straight game, the Lions scored 19 goals and turned the ball over 17 times. In both games, the opposing team has had at least 20 turnovers.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Hannah Doughty scored a season-high five goals against Davenport, as she led the team in goals scored.
  • Biller added three goals for the Lions, which was a season-high for her. Carly Fedorowski, Erin McGuire and Reader finished with two goals scored each.
  • McGuire was the team's assist leader on the day, as she finished with four, giving her six points in the game.
  • Two different Lions players recorded four ground balls, as Kym Ardrey and Shannon Modl both scooped up four.
  • Modl also finished with four draw controls, while Biller led the team with five in the game.
  • Ardrey and Modl combined for eight caused turnovers, which was half of Lindenwood's caused turnover total. Both players recorded four caused turnovers.
  • Eleanor Kast picked up her second-straight win, as she finished with two saves against the Panthers.
