The Lindenwood women's hockey team (5-21-4, 3-13-1 CHA) tied Penn State (10-13-8, 5-7-5 CHA) in a 1-1 final on Friday night in Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.
 
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood and Penn State played even throughout the night, but the Nittany Lions notched the first goal at the 17:29 mark of the first period to take a one-goal lead.  The shots were even after one period, as the two teams picked up the pace in the second frame.  Lindenwood continued the press in the third period, at the work paid off at the 6:22 mark of the third.  Cierra Paisley and Bailey Coyne were able to get back-to-back shots in, before Paisley found the second rebound to tie the game at 1-1.
 
The tension continued throughout the period, but neither team could break the deadlock.  The overtime period saw many rushes, but all shots were wide of the net, ending the night in a 1-1 tie.  Penn State controlled the faceoff circle with a 35-24 advantage, but the shots were almost identical with the Nittany Lions holding a 32-31 edge.
