The Lindenwood women's hockey team (5-22-4, 3-14-1 CHA) dropped its final home game of the season to Penn State (11-13-8, 6-7-5 CHA) in a 5-1 final on Saturday at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Nittany Lions jumped on the board quickly, as they notched the first goal at the 1:37 mark of the first period.Â
Annika Asplundh settled in for the remainder of the period, stopping the next 11 shots. Penn State took a 2-0 lead after a goal at the 3:33 mark of the second period, but the Lions did not go away.

Lindenwood pressed the pace in the second frame by outshooting Penn State 13-7. The Lions found the back of the net at the 12:49 mark, when
Maddison Stitt scored on the power play to make it a 2-1 game. Penn State scored late in the period to regain the two-goal advantage, while also grabbing the momentum heading into the final period.

Lindenwood surrendered two more goals in the third period, falling 5-1 in the final home game of the season. The Lions accumulated 28 shots on goal, while winning 27 faceoffs.Â
Lauren Dabrowski led the Lions with three blocked shots, while the rest of the team tallied six.
