Braden Shea scored his first career hat trick to lead the Lions to a 5-1 win over Missouri State Friday evening at Mediacom Park in Springfield, Missouri.
The game remained close through the first period as both teams found the back of the net.
Jordan Klimovsky fed
Billy Denis for the Lindenwood tally at 10:37, but the Bears answered with a power play goal at 13:20. The Lions pulled away in the second.
Vegard Faret sounded the horn at 5:56 with help from
Ryan Finnegan and
Hayden Ursulak to make it 2-1 and then it was the "Shea Show" from there. He scored his first of three off a pass from
Colton Craigo at 11:44 and it was 3-1 Lindenwood at the second intermission.
Victor Lombardi found the blade of Shea at 13:23 in the third, and
Hayden Dawes provided the history making assist to the Minnesota native for a power play goal with 20-seconds remaining.
The Lions outshot Missouri State 50-14, and
Cooper Seedott earned the victory in goal with 13 saves on 14 shots.
Lindenwood improved to 24-7-0 overall with the win. The Lions wrap the 2019-2020 regular season in the series finale against the Bears Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at Mediacom Park.
