The No. 15 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team led a successful comeback for a 13-12 win over the Panthers of Florida Tech on Saturday at Hunter Stadium.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions were outscored in each of the first two periods of the game, 3-2 in the first quarter, and 6-3 in the second.
Peter Covington scored the first of his four goals in the second period, while
Leonard Jones and
Coulter Strauss both tacked on scores in the first period.
Grant Brunsvold and
Andrew Hasz both found the net in the second period for the Lions.
After entering halftime down 9-5, Lindenwood outscored Florida Tech, 8-5, while not allowing a single goal in the final 17 minutes to escape with a comeback victory. The Lions scored five goals in the fourth period, highlighted by goals from
Carter Collins and Jones in the final 45 seconds to tie the game and give Lindenwood the lead.
Three of Covington's four goals came during a 7-2 scoring run for the Lions.
Chase Showalter,
Jake Campbell, Collins and Jones also scored during the scoring run for Lindenwood.

- Three Lions finished with double-digit goals scored. Brunsvold and Jones each had two, while Covington led the team with four goals.
- Six different Lindenwood players recorded an assist, including Grant Glazier and Preston Borchardt.
- Covington finished with a team-high five points on the day.

- Collins scooped up a team-leading eight ground balls against Florida Tech. Collins also tied Jordan Nalls for the team lead with two caused turnovers on the day.
