The Lions kicked off the season with a 7-1 win over Maryville Sunday afternoon at the Maryville Ice Center in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Lindenwood controlled the pace of the game on both sides of the puck from the beginning. The Lions led 2-0 after the first period, and increased their margin to 5-1 after the second. Another two unanswered goals in the third led to the final margin of victory.

Cooper Seedott stopped 17 of 18 pucks to earn the win between the pipes.
The two teams square off in the second game of the series Monday afternoon. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Chesterfield, Missouri.
