GAME OVERVIEW
The Nittany controlled play early in the opening frame, resulting in a pair of goals less than five minutes into the game. Lindenwood would battle back generating some quality chances in the Penn State end of the ice, which led to
Megan Wagner cutting the lead in half with her third goal of the season at the 14:33 mark of the first period.
Sierra Burt and
Sena Takenaka picked up helpers on the goal.
The strong offensive play continued in the second 20 minutes of play as both trade chances. Penn State would regain their two-goal lead at the 5:58 mark of the second period, but once again, the Lions would push back with the next four shots on goal in the period, but the Nittany Lions withstood the pressure and added onto their lead late in the period and took a three-goal lead into the locker room.
The Lions wouldn't go down without a fight as
Casey Adimey found the back of the net at the 6;14 mark of the final frame, cutting the Nittany Lion lead to 4-2. Penn State, however, would o onto add two more goals in the period and pick up the 6-2 victory, despite 42 saves from
Julia Maguire.
