The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (3-0, 0-0 MIVA) secured its third win in as many games with a 3-1 victory over Lincoln Memorial (1-6, 0-0 SAC) on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions kicked off the match with a 25-15 first set victory.
- The team had 12 kills in the first set, while Lincoln Memorial had nine.
- In the second set, Lindenwood took the victory, with a 25-23 score.
- The Railsplitters tallied more kills, however, 15-11.
- The penultimate set saw Lincoln Memorial finish ahead, 25-17.
- The Lions were held to eight kills, while the Railsplitters notched 13.
- The final set, securing the third-straight win to open the campaign for Lindenwood, saw them out-kill Lincoln Memorial, 13-10.
- Lindenwood closed it out with a 25-18 fourth set victory.
- The team did not trail in either of the first two sets of Saturday's match.
BOX SCORE LEADERS
- Diego Negron led with 15 kills. A.J. Lewis was second with 11, and Phil Swartz recorded nine.
- Negron tallied a game-high five aces, Connor Sheehan notched three, and Swartz tallied one.
- The team was led in blocks by Cal Werths, who had seven. Lewis reached six blocks in the game, and Negron had three.
- Sheehan held the lead among all competitors with 38 assists. Alex Pappas and Negron also had one.
- Kyle Deutschmann had 11 assists for the Lions to lead the game. Negron had six, and Sheehan finished with four.
