The Lindenwood football team (4-2, 2-0 GLVC) will head to Indianapolis, Ind. on Saturday to take on UIndy (4-2, 2-0 GLVC) at 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. CST). The Lions and Greyhounds are the only two teams in the GLVC remaining with an unbeaten conference slate.
Lindenwood is coming off a 33-28 win over Quincy last weekend.
Kai Ross and
Spencer Redd each had outstanding performances to earn conference recognition. Ross picked off three passes, forced one fumble, and recovered another to earn GLVC Defensive Player of the Week. Redd returned a kickoff 97 yards to the house, earning GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week.
As a team, the Lions have registered nine interceptions and five fumble recoveries for a total of 14 turnovers through six games.
Cade Brister is leading an offensive attack, as he is spreading the ball around to different play makers.
Glen Gibbons (20-291-2),
Clint Sigg (22-278-2),
Alex Faddoul (23-272-2), and
Payton Rose (16-264-2) have each made a significant impact as key receivers on the team.
Lindenwood will face one of the best running backs in NCAA Division II, as Toriano Clinton has compiled 1058 yards on the ground with 13 touchdowns. Clinton rushed for 270 yards and four scores in week two, and tallied 287 yards with four scores just last week.
Bryce Stancombe is efficient as the quarterback of the offense, as he is averaging 212.8 passing yards per game with a completion percentage of 61.0 percent. Stancombe has tossed 11 touchdown passes with just one interception on the year.
In 2019, the Lions upset then-No. 8 UIndy at Hunter Stadium by a final of 34-27. That loss was the first for the Greyhounds in GLVC play since the 2016 season. UIndy is receiving votes in the AFCA Coaches Poll, as the Greyhounds spent some time in the top-25 earlier this season.
