Men's ice hockey claimed the No. 2 position in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division I Ranking for the third straight week to begin the season.
The Lions received four, first-place votes and 620 points overall, to sit 27 points behind first place Adrian College. The Bulldogs received 25, first-place votes after defeating No. 6 Michigan – Dearborn in a two-game series. For the second week in a row, the top-five teams remained unchanged in the ranking, and the top-10 as well this week, leaving Liberty University as the No. 3 team. The Flames improved to 5-0-0 after sweeping No. 22 Delaware. No. 4 Minot State had an idle week while No. 5 Iowa State swept the University of Colorado to improve to 8-0-0.
Lindenwood improved to 4-0-0 in ACHA competition and to 4-1-0 overall with a two-game sweep of Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL) rival Illinois last weekend. The Lions outscored the Illini 20-4 to open conference play with a 2-0-0 mark.
Lindenwood hosts Maryville University in a two-game, non-conference match-up October 15-16. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m. Friday night and again at 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
