The Lindenwood women's soccer team (4-7-1, 4-5-1 GLVC) fell by a score of 1-0 to Maryville (5-6-1, 4-5-1 GLVC) on Sunday afternoon from St. Louis, Mo.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Offense was hard to come by for both teams in the opening half as the Saints and the Lions combined for just for shots on goal across the first 45 minutes of play, three by Maryville.
Hannah Scholer registered Lindenwoods only shot during the opening half, in the 28th minute, but the Maryville keeper made the stop. Lindenwood compiled two corner kicks during the first 45 minutes, including a late opportunity, but were unable to capitalize. Goalkeeper

The game headed into halftime scoreless.
Lindenwood made some offensive adjustments at halftime, recording four of the first five shots in the second half, including two on goal. The Saints settled into the half as they began to put pressure on the Lindenwood defense after the early push. That pressure would pay off in the 81st minute when Maryville pounced on a loose ball in the box, taking a 1-0 lead late in the game.
Maryville was able to hold onto the slim lead for the remainder of the game, seeing the match reach its final result.
