Lindenwood field hockey (6-7) suffered a 6-5 loss in a neutral contest against Coker (4-9, 3-8 SAC) on Friday in Charlotte, N.C.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions scored early, just 44 seconds into the match, on a goal by
Pauline Terwindt. The Cobras would tie it up, 1-1, around eight minutes later. Trailing midway through the second quarter, Lindenwood tallied two goals in less than a minute, from Terwindt and
Allie Hosto (on an assist from Terwindt).
Entering halftime with the match tied, 3-3, neither team was able to score in the third period. There were just four total shots by both teams in the third. The fourth period of play saw the teams explode, as the Lions scored twice, on goals from
Riley Enget and
Mia Simpson.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pauline Terwindt led the Lions with two goals. Allie Hosto, Mia Simpson, and Riley Enget all added a goal for the team.
- Simpson (4) and Terwindt (3) combined for seven shots, six of which were on goal.
- Terwindt also added an assist to finish with five points.
- Hosto recorded the lone defensive save for Lindenwood.
- Leah Brozovich and Kyla Cooke each finished with two saves in the contest.
