The Lions claimed the top spot in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division I Ranking for the second straight week. Lindenwood received 20 first place votes and a total of 425 points for a 17 point margin over Minot State in second place.
The Beavers received one first place vote after improving to 4-0-0 on the season with a road win over Williston State. Liberty University remained third after sweeping No. 14 Jamestown University to improve to 7-2-0. Iowa State moved from a tie for fourth last week to owning the No. 4 spot solo after a sweep of No. 12 Maryville. The Cyclones remained undefeated at 12-0-0. Adrian College rounded out the top five after sweeping a home-and-home set with Grand Valley State. The Bulldogs improved to 6-2-0 for the year.
The Lions faced Air Force, their second NCAA opponent of the season, last weekend with the Falcons handing Lindenwood 6-1 and 7-3 losses. That dropped the Lions overall record to 6-3-0, but they remained 6-0-0 in ACHA play.
Lindenwood travels north for the second conference series of the year in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL) with a match-up against Roosevelt (formerly Robert Morris) October 29-30. The puck drops at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois.
